Stroke of Love

4 Stars!!!!!

Kate Parello runs a volunteer program in Belize for Artists for International Aid, where she deals with self-centered artists who use the program as a means to repair their marred reputations. She loves the country, the people, and what AIA stands for, but too many diva volunteers have turned her off to press-seeking celebrities altogether and left her questioning the value of the volunteer program. When she meets incredibly handsome and charming Sage, he stirs emotions she hasn’t felt for ages, even though he represents the things she despises.

Laid-back artist Sage Remington escapes his wealthy lifestyle in the Big Apple for a two-week journey of self-discovery to figure out how a guy who has so much can feel so empty. When he meets ultra-organized Kate, who lives her life the way he's always dreamed of living his, the attraction is too hot to ignore, but Sage is there to figure out what’s missing in his life, not to find a woman.

Every look, and every late-night chat in the romantic jungle brings them closer together, but Sage can barely think past stripping away Kate’s misconceptions about him. Kate fights him every step of the way—even though she finds it hard to ignore the strikingly handsome, generous-to-a-fault artist who wants to do nothing more than right the wrongs of the world—and love her to the ends of the earth.

My Thoughts…

“Only with you. Forever with you.”

I am really starting to love this series. I thought that this book was better than the first. In this book we meet Sage Remington. We had met him a few times in the previous book but this story is his. We also meet Kate. Their relationship was pretty fun to read about.

Kate Parello

Kate is a volunteer that works with celebrities in Punta Palacia. She has become pretty jaded when it comes to celebrities. She never gets volunteers that actually want to volunteer. She gets the celebrities that are only there to boost their reputations. Until she meets Sage Remington. He isn’t like the others and she has no idea how to handle it.

I loved Kate’s character. She was determined to help as many people as she could wherever she could. Her character was caring, loveable, and forgiving, unless you are a celebrity. It was pretty funny how she was determined to lump Sage into the celebrity category no matter how much her gut was telling her he was different. She was actually kind of mean about it. She didn’t even give him a chance and when she did she still questioned his actions for a while. It was entertaining watching her fight it. It was even more enjoyable to see her succumb to the person Sage was and all of his charm.

Sage Remington

Sage always knew that what his life was wasn’t something he was happy with. He needed something more and giving money to charities wasn’t cutting it. He decided to volunteer with a non-profit that works with celebrities. He realizes that he is the only celebrity there for the right reasons. Sage sets eyes on Kate and can immediately feel the spark. He just doesn’t know how to make her change her mind about him.

Sage was just perfect. He was caring and generous. He loved working with the kids, he was just swoon-worthy all around. He did have his flaws. He would retreat to his “art creating” world and forget everything around him. If that is his biggest flaw I think it can be worked around. I liked that he could feel the pull with Kate but he was not going to bend over backwards to show her he was different. He was going to be himself and let her change his mind. He was a different kind of leading man. He wasn’t overly aggressive and demanding. He was really chill…and hot.

"Jesus, I want to carry you to that bed and make love to you right now. This second. But damn it, Kate. I want you to know what kind of person I am, before we come together. I can't be close to you knowing that you think I'm someone I'm not."

Their romance was sweet and dreamy. It was a story that was touching and romantic. Reading it, you had no choice but to fall in love with them more and more with every page. Their romance was pure and unshakable. These two were amazing together.

"Kate, you're everything I could ever want. You're strong, and smart and generous and you're sweet, and delicious. There's no better feeling in the world than what I feel when I'm with you,"

This book was fantastic. I really enjoyed reading the whole thing. The location of the book was really interesting. It was exotic and not something that you would really expect since The Remingtons live in New York. The story was engaging and kept you interested. I read it in like a day. I can’t wait for the next one. I hope that we get to see more of both of these couples. Dex and Ellie and Sage and Kate.

“It didn’t matter if she knew what they were doing the next day, the next month, or the next year, as long as they were together.”
