My Thoughts….
“You’re
going to break me,” She whispered.
But
she was wrong. “You’re the one who’s going to break me.” She would. He knew it
now. She was going to break him into so many pieces he wouldn’t be able to
recognize himself.
And
he was totally looking forward to it.”
I loved this book. I was sucked into the story right from the
beginning. Maddie and Micah meet at a party one night and it immediately gets
all hot and steamy up against some random wall. Before it can get good they get
interrupted and that ends it. Micah chooses his career and deletes her number
and that is the end of it for seven years. But even a hot shot actor and a
workaholic can’t get that one night out of their heads.
This book was amazing right from the get go. Micah and Maddie’s
chemistry is immediate and all consuming. You could feel it through the pages.
Until Micah cuts it off. Micah is one of my problems in this book. I mean he
pretends to not remember her and then chases her anyway after he admits it.
Micah was sort of a dick in the beginning but he definitely won me over. He is
slow with admitting his feelings but he definitely hot and he was a nice
leading man. He was willing to take care of Maddie he just didn’t want to get
his heart broken when it didn’t work out. When he won her back I was totally
like…..
Maddie is smart and hardworking. She has had some bad luck in
the industry but she still is trying to make it behind the scenes. She was
stubborn and sarcastic and I loved it. She knew what she wanted and she wasn’t
afraid to tell Micah. She was just afraid to stick around and find out he
wouldn’t give it to her. I am really proud that this protagonist wasn’t going to
settle for anything she didn’t deserve. She made him rethink his whole thought
process before taking him back. I was like…
The humor in this book was great. I couldn’t stop laughing
through a lot of it. I think that the inner monologue that Maddie goes through
is the best. That is where a lot of her comedy takes place.
“She
was mortified-brushing his penis was bad, staring at his crotch was worse.
Complimenting his size? She wanted to crawl into a hole and stay there until
the whole damn production wrapped.”
The romance and chemistry was heart stopping. This book was
about two people who were meant for each other fight fate because they thought
they couldn’t have everything they wanted. You could tell from the beginning
that they were going to be it for each other but for them to see it they had to
go through some thought changing bumps in the road. The writing and the
dialogue between them flowed and kept you engaged through throughout the book.
The best thing about this story is that it wasn’t like a lot of
NA/ contemporary romances out today. There wasn’t someone hell bent on ruining
the relationship (other than themselves) and they didn’t have dark or
disturbing pasts. Don’t get me wrong I read a lot of those and I love them.
This was just something different and I appreciate that.

Overall this was a quick read that was sexy, steamy, and
relatively light-hearted. It was a fun read and I would definitely read more
from this author.
