REVIEW: Saving You (Love Wanted in Texas #2) By, Kelly Elliott

What happens when your head and heart contradict each other regarding the one person you’ve always wanted?

Growing up, Luke Johnson and Libby Hayes thought they would be best friends forever.

One kiss changed everything.

Fearing his love for Libby could cost him their friendship, Luke chooses to listen to his head—instead of his heart.

Will the regrets of denying the one person Luke wants to give himself to, end up leaving him lost and alone? Or will Libby be able to save him with her love?

Saving You is book 2 in the Love Wanted In Texas Series.

Review

I am a huge fan of Kelly Elliott. I first fell in love with her writing in Wanted. After that I read the rest of the series and fell in love with each couple Kelly created for us. Now she has given us their kids love stories. I have not read the first one, Without You, but I was able to enjoy this book without it.

Libby Hayes has been in love with Luke since she can remember but now that they are in college they barely talk. Luke seems to give her hope for more one minute to pushing her as far away as possible the next. Once she finally gets up the courage to tell him how she feels he hurts her again. Now Libby, no matter how much she doesn’t want to, decides to move on. The only problem is that her heart won’t let her. She can’t get Luke out of her head or heart.

I actually really liked Libby. She eventually get the nerve up to tell Luke how she feels. She had the courage to try and fight for what she wanted and when she couldn’t have it she had the courage to move on. Libby, like the previous characters from Wanted, really cares about her friends. She really tries to do everything she can to make everyone around her happy. She was sweet and fun.

Luke has loved Libby for as long as he can remember. Once he got the courage to kiss her before he left for college he wasn’t sure if it was worth it. He needs Libby in his life and that one kiss could have ruined everything. Then the worst thing happens. Libby leaves him and starts dating. He knows he should leave her to find happiness without him but Luke can’t be happy without her.

Luke was so sweet and caring. Even though he wouldn’t get over his fear of hurting Libby, he was always there for her. Whatever she needed he tried to take care of her. It was hilarious to me that their story was so much like his parents. For a little while I was disappointed and worried it was going to be the same story written over again but I was wrong. Kelly created a story that had similarities but was completely different.

Kelly Elliott created a sweet love story between two best friends. Luke and Libby have chemistry that can’t be denied. They try but it just doesn’t work. My favorite part of Kelly’s writing is that we get to actually see the couple together. They have their moments when they fight but once they are together we get to experience their relationship. One thing that I missed from the Wanted series is the random chapters from the other characters. I missed getting chapters that explained what was going on with the other couples in the series.

I loved this book and I can’t wait to see the other stories. I am not sure who I am excited for more. Colt and Lauren or Grace.
